I am an adult webmaster who has been at this business since 1997.

I dabbled at at part-time, primarily through AVS sites, from 1997 until 1999 at which time I began to devote 50% of my time to the business. By that time, I operated a paysite (lingeriedesires.com), AVS sites, and several niche tgp’s (lingerie-porno.com being the best known). I also had another side business with a partner hosting the rudimentary game sites of the time on private dedicated server arrangements mainly contracted on the webmaster and webhosting boards at the time.

By 2001, I was full-time in the business which lasted until the end of 2003 when I was forced to sell most of my adult internet holdings to focus on a bricks and mortar business I was involved with that needed my help. Unfortunately, the person who acquired my properties quickly let them langquish and wanted to rescind the deal. We ultimately worked out an arrangement, but all I had returned to me was empty domains and a couple of sites that continued to operate. I maintained those few small sites until recently.

In the fall of 2008, I finally sold out my partnership in the bricks and mortar world and am once again concentrating on web based development efforts including the adult web.

Of course, starting up again was a bit easier because of my prior knowledge and contacts. But, there are things that I had to relearn or newly learn. Those things, combined with the changes in the adult industry over the past 2-3 years inspired me to create this blog. In essence, I have several realitively well defined objectives for the blog.

1. I was working on a format to store the knowledge base that I have developed over time to assist webmasters with some of their most frustrating activities and tasks. Instead of poring it into a proprietary database on my own computer, I decided that I would share these bits of knowledge in the hopes that it will help people.

2. I wanted to have a base domain with open whois information so that people I do business with can be assured they are dealing with a legitimate webmaster. For a variety of risk managment and business reasons (I have a growing mainstream business), I do not want to have open whois on all of my domains. Eventually, and soon, I will convert this domain over to a new corporate entity that will hold all of my adult holdings. Until then, most of my domains are whois protected.

3. Of course, I would not be a self-respecting webmaster if I did not attempt to find a way to monetize my efforts here, and of course there is a monetization element. I have a number of projects ongoing and in the planning stages that may benefit from this site being up. And, of course, there will be affiliate links. Nevertheless, the overriding informational objective is to provide useful information and links. I will note that every single recommended resource that we link to is one that we have done business with or have intimate knowledge of their business. We are not going to link to someone simply because they pay a commission.

I should add an note about the name. It is a combination of inconoclast and pornographer. According to Webster’s dictionary, iconoclast has two distinct definitions.

One who attacks and seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas or institutions.

One who destroys sacred religious images.

Now, the definition of a pornographer should be well known to all who read this page. To a degree, we are all rebels and iconoclasts as pornographers in the social realm. And to a degree, we should be more of icnonoclasts than we are in our business activities. The changes in this industry are rapid and require us to destroy it and recreate it often. It simply struck me as an appropriate amalgam of the two words. Finally, I have always been a rebel, and to add that element into the title of this site was an important part of developing the name. I hope you like it.

I hope you will find the site to be helpful to you and will take a moment to register and comment. Or, ask a question should you have it. Should you find the information useful and people begin using the site frequently, we will endeavor to add resources and contine to add value to the site.

Regards
