An observation about Black Label Ads…

admin

Recently, I started using black label ads (blacklabelads.com) which is a division of Ad Brite that caters to the adult market.

As with any new program I use for website monetization, it takes some time to learn how to use.  I use it primarily for some domains I have parked and some splogs that are used for linking purposes.  None of these sites individually has much traffic.

For the first time, I began using the Black Label banner ads.  Something that was not clear to me in the configuration process that I have since learned is a valuable piece of knowledge for those using their service for parked or inactive domains…

In essence, black label pays on a per click basis for their text only ads.  If you use their banner option, they claim that your payouts will be higher.  This may be true for higher volume sites, but I am at a loss to figure out how one could not monetize their traffic better than with a general banner ad on their site.

Regardless, I tried their banner option on a few parked sites.  It soon became clear that their banner ads pay a fee based on impressions or clicks and they serve the differing options randomly.  The text only ads, however, pay on a per click basis.  The per click payouts, also, are accumulated across all of your sites.  The banner impressions are calculated on a per domain, or per zone, basis.

If you are using the service to build a site in substitution for parking it at some place like Sedo, this is an important differentiation as it may take an exceptionally long time to monetize a CPM banner per zone versus per click across all of your zones.

So, beware of just putting the blacklabelads.com banner ads on your lower traffic and parked domains.  The service is quite valuable and a nice adult substitution for Google AdWords, but be aware of the differences.

I seem to be having a bit of trouble with Black Label Ads at the moment, I used to use them on my old Blogger site but now that I’ve transferred to WordPress they say they are generating but then nothing appears when that has finished except “Your Ad Here” is it because I don’t have enough content on my site yet or am I embedding them wrong. Please help.

It normally takes about 24 hours for the ads to show up.

Take a look the next day. If they are not there, send an email to blacklabel. They normally respond very quickly.

Thanks for taking the time to ask here.

It’s been like this for about a week now. I believe I have found the solution though, apparently I need to install Wordpress via Fantastico, unfortunately can’t try this right now as my server seems to be down

      King Willy:

I checked out your domain hosting. It seems that you are hosting with the company that you registered the domain with.

Again, let me know if I can help you out with that.

Now that I have found that out, it will be the subject of my next post as you should generally avoid that scenario if you can afford to.
